Well I know I’m getting sick of everyone using vocoders and auto-tune. It’s like these artists are just sheep following the trend supposedly set by T-Pain. I say supposedly because T-Pain is certainly not the first artist to use auto-tune, he’s just the first to never not use it (I’ve still never heard his natural singing voice).
Well T-Pain seems to think he owns auto-tune and wants everyone to stop using it, unless they pay him to use it.
At the end of the “Can’t Believe It” remix, T-Pain says that Auto-Tune is almost up.”Not for me,” Pain reportedly clarified, “for everybody else.” The singer — who told DJ Skee in a separate interview that artists such as Ron Browz have used the Auto-Tune effect poorly — told MTV News that his biters need to pay up. Hey, if Diddy can collaborate with Pain and pay him for using the Auto-Tune, so can you other guys.
“I gave T-Pain one point on my [upcoming] album for using the Auto-Tune,” Diddy revealed on Sunday night during “Total Finale Live.”
“Sign the papers,” advised Pain, who also worked on his friend Kanye West’s 808’s & Heartbreak. “Diddy actually gave me royalties on this album just for using Auto-Tune. He signed the contract and everything. If I can do that with Diddy, somebody else better be signing something. It’s Diddy. He didn’t have to involve me at all. … I’m writing and producing on his album, and he gave me extra royalties on top of that for using something I just brought back.”
I think T-Pain is taking the mick. What do you think???
Check out Rihanna’s new video for “Rehab” featuring Justin Timberlake. I quite like this song but I think it sounds a bit too similar to Justin Timberlake’s “What goes around comes around”. Anyway what do guys think of the song and video?
Apparently Dame Dash is claiming that Kanye West hates Jay-z. And this hate is supposedly from way back in 2003 when Kanye was signed to Rocafella.
Dash told Complex Magazine: “This n- [Kanye ] was like, ‘Wow. [Jay-Z] ain’t going to give me the chain. I had to take off my chain and give it to him, and I was heated. I had the real canary diamonds. That s- cost $40,000! I told Kanye, ‘Yo, you got to give that back when we get off this stage!’”
Kanye’s representatives have already rubbished Damon Dash’s story calling it ‘ridiculous.’ Other sources say the mogul is simply trying to drum up interest in his artist Jim Jones.
Jay Z fell out with Dash as they sold their record label Roc-a-fella to Def Jam in 2004.
Who knows if Dame Dash really said these things, if he did then maybe he’s stooping a bit too low.
Check out this new video from Kanye West. The track is called “Heartless” and I’m liking it. I prefer this to Love lockdown but I’m not crazy excited about it but as always Kanye West is always pushing the creative envelope with his music and his videos, and for that reason I give him props!!!
Beyonce is showing some serious Obama support by offering to sing at his inauguration.
“I’m there,” she told The Associated Press. “I can’t wait. I feel like all of us, we’re ready to do whatever we have to do. Whatever they want — if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I’m there, and I’m ready. I’ve never been so patriotic! I’m just beyond excited.”
She was actually supposed to be in Japan on the night of the election to promote her new album titled: “I am Sasha Fierce” (I’m still not sure about that album title, what does does even mean).
Instead she decided to stay at home and watch the election results. “I said, ‘What am I doing? I’m completely making a bad decision. I have to go home, I’m gonna kill myself if I’m not home in America,’” she said. “I knew I needed to be here.
“I fell asleep crying and smiling at the same time,” Beyoncé said of her reaction on election night. “I woke up with mascara running and a smile on my face!”
What do guys think? Do you think Beyonce is being a little fast with herself by offering to sing for Obama? (should she really just chill and wait to be asked) or is she just being really supportive.

Check out this video of Dizzee Rascal putting in his two pence about Barack Obama’s historical election win. I actually caught this on TV by accident. I was channel surfing (as you do) and I flicked to BBC 2 real quick and Newsnight was on, then I thought hold on a minute, isn’t that Dizzee Rascal.
Dizzee was really showing his Obama support, but he also made some really good points and joked about becoming prime minister. He gave me joke with his whole swagger and you could tell the news reporter was trying really hard at times to understand what he was saying.
